Description

Salvia nemorosa ‘Caradonna’ is a striking perennial with a tall, upright clumping habit, featuring dark purple to violet flower spikes that bloom from early to midsummer. Mid-green basal leaves (about 12.5 cm long) emit a pleasant fragrance when crushed. This hardy variety thrives in full sun with well-drained soils, making it drought tolerant once established. Ideal for borders, mass plantings, or pollinator-friendly gardens, it adds vertical structure, color, and texture to the landscape.

Zone: 4
Height: 45–50 cm (foliage), 75 cm (flower spikes)
Spread: 50–60 cm

Growing & Maintenance Tips:

  • May become floppy in rich soil or shade; support flower spikes if needed.
